TOURISM DISTRICT HOSTS ANNUAL MEETING AT ODETAH CAMPGROUND

On June 14th, the District hosted its annual meeting at Odetah Campground in Bozrah. Nathan Adelman, Chairman of the Board and owner of the campground was gracious enough to let us use his new waterfront café area, where the business meeting was held, followed by a cookout. The afternoon ended with a round of mini golf. Fun was had by all!

During the business meeting, the slate of Officers was elected for the 07/08 fiscal year. Nathan Adelman will continue to serve as Chairman. Martha Emilio, Pomfret’s municipal representative will serve as Vice-chair. Tony Pero, municipal rep for New London, will continue to serve as Secretary, while Richard Erickson, municipal rep from Norwich, will continue his service as Treasurer.

Donna gave a year in review that not only summed up the marketing activities of the District, but also spoke about the strong partnerships we continue to grow with the Quinebaug Shetucket Heritage Corridor and Mystic Coast & Country.

The mood of the meeting was upbeat as several comments were made about the positive changes that have been taking place within the district. And although the budget issue remains to be solved, we have several dignitaries in our corner, like Keith Roberts, Bozrah’s first selectman, who attended the meeting and spoke about how tourism is one of Connecticut’s top economic generators and that the legislatures must continually be reminded about this.
