Transcription Club
Do you have a box of old family letters or recipes that you have difficulty reading and need help deciphering? A newly formed Transcription Club, created jointly by the Mystic River Historical Society, the Denison Homestead and the Avery-Copp House, will meet on Monday, January 7, 2008 at the Denison Homestead in Mystic, CT at 12:30 p.m. Attendees may bring their own projects, or help others with their difficult documents. Current members are staff from local history organizations as well as individuals working on their own family papers.

The time is upon us! Next week, starting December 17, more than 4 million American businesses, including 3,900 businesses in New London County, received 2007 Economic Census forms. Businesses that do not receive a form (typically very small) are not required to do anything, but those businesses that receive a form are required by law (Title 13, U.S. Code) to complete and return it. The due date is February 12, 2008.
